Hoylake to host Open again
The Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Hoylake will again host golf’s Open Championship in 2014, the 12th time the course has hosted golf’s oldest Major tournament.
The Open is estimated to have an economic impact of £70m each time it is held in the region. Wirral Council leader Steve Foulkes said: “The return of one of the world’s biggest sporting events is fantastic news for Wirral. We look forward to welcoming new visitors to the peninsula as well as returning golf fans who enjoyed themselves so much with us in 2006.”
