The BAC Mono is made up of 5,500 parts and has 120 key suppliers. CEO Mark Rayner said: “We are looking at locally reshoring the business so we can increase the 35 per cent of parts supplied to more than 50 per cent, so we can have more of an impact in the region.

In December, Briggs Automotive Company agreed a deal with Liverpool John Lennon Airport to test its supercars on the runway when not in use. It also announced that Alexandre Gama had bought a minority stake alongside an unnamed Chinese investor based in Hong Kong.

Rayner said: “We’ll go through a second round of equity, whether through our current investors, and or others; mainly we’ll do that to support internationalisation and where there are significant growth plans for the car and the company.”
