Liverpool in China
Liverpool has enjoyed a long and prosperous relationship with China, and Shanghai in particular, over hundreds of years. The relationship is now stronger than ever and has the potential to grow even further as partners create and capitalise on new opportunities.
The Liverpool China Partnership has been formed to expand, strengthen and deliver greater benefit from the City Region’s trade, investment, tourism, education, cultural, civic and other links with China. The Partnership’s activities include trade and investment missions to China, highlighting the city’s attractions to China’s travel trade and securing Chinese delegations to visit the Liverpool City Region.
Memorandum of Understanding for Liverpool and Shanghai
On the 5th March 2015 Liverpool Vision signed a MOU with their equivalent organisation in Shanghai namely Invest Shanghai. The MOU was signed by the Vice Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Gary Millar and Mr. Fang SUN, Director, Shanghai FID European Division. The MOU re-enforces the relationship the two cities have had during the long sister city relationship.
The MOU sets out a series of formal meetings that take place in London between the two representative offices based in the Capital as well as looking at both organisations promoting the opportunities of the other which includes IFB2016.
