Women in business
More than half the working age population is women, but women remain under represented in all forms of economic activity, and this is particularly the case when it comes to business ownership.
Liverpool Vision recognises that the city would benefit greatly in social and economic terms if more women were enabled to start and grow their own businesses. Given that women are a relatively untapped entrepreneurial market, coupled with Liverpool Vision’s commitment to increasing the numbers of women starting and growing in the city, we have developed a joint partnership arrangement with award-winning women’s enterprise agency The Women's Organisation.
The Women's Organisation are developing the Women's International Centre for Economic Development (WICED) which will be a key innovator and deliverer of women's enterprise services. Train 2000, now an integrated part of WICED, are seeking to build on their success in reaching and delivering quality gendered economic development support to a wider audience of women; service developments and geographical reach by addressing the issue of scale and scope of future service design and provision.
Liverpool women can now access for free, a full range of services to help them to explore whether running a business is for them, such as; access to grants and loans; development of their business plan, and expansion to make their business more profitable.
