'Real coup' as BCSC comes to Liverpool

Liverpool is set to host a "real coup" next week when 2,500 property and retail delegates descend on the ACC.

The British Council of Shopping Centres is hosting its 2012 conference in the city and representatives of companies such as Liverpool One owner Grosvenor.

The three-day conference, which starts on Monday (10 September 2012), will welcome developers, investors, shopping centre owners, managers and retailers as well as government figures.

Retail guru Mary Portas and Pizza Express boss Luke Johnson are among the speakers.

Max Steinberg, chief executive of Liverpool vision, the city's economic development company, said: "The city's retail offer has grown rapidly in recent years with Liverpool One and the work of the Commercial District BID team making Liverpool's Arena and Convention Centre the perfect place to host the BCSC conference and exhibition.

"This is a real coup for Liverpool. It's the largest gathering of retail property professionals in the UK, attracting owners, developers, investors, retailers and shopping centres.

"I am sure every delegate will be impressed with the innovative way in which Liverpool has combined its retail offer with its cultural attractions to enhance the city's visitor experience."
