Liverpool Vision ‘start up’ becomes Liverpool in London sponsor

A company that was helped into business in 2008 by Liverpool Vision has become the first to sponsor phase two of Liverpool’s London mission.

Tender Management Consultancy (TMC), based in The Plaza, Old Hall Street, provides tender management services to customers by identifying opportunities and developing documents and pitches to win contracts.

They also help train firms to win more tenders via team workshops or seminars, as well as provide coaching for interviews and presentations, identifying key selling points and firms’ capability to deliver contracts.

Since receiving a £500 start up grant three years ago from Liverpool Vision, the city’s economic development company, TMC now operates across the UK and overseas.

Their sponsorship of Liverpool’s London office provides them with a range of benefits including: a hot desk; access to the boardroom half a day per week; access to the events space for one large event/training seminar; branding presence; invitations to all Liverpool Vision-led events in London.

Jim Williams, Managing Director of Tender Management Consultancy, said: “I have been working with Liverpool Vision since June 2008, following a successful start-up grant application of £500.

“Since then, the Liverpool Vision team has supported my company through various successful initiatives and business advice. And our business has grown.

“Supporting the London mission will mean it will grow further through access to larger networks and strategic business advice and targeted meetings.

“This is a big investment for us, but the decision was made because of the confidence we have in Liverpool Vision’s team and the successful work Liverpool is already doing in London.

“As a result of our support, we aim to win new business in London whilst introducing London clients to invest in Liverpool businesses.”

Liverpool’s London presence began in January 2011 in New Broad Street. Originally a three month project the London office has been the venue for more than 100 business meetings, some of international significance for Liverpool.

Additionally, more than 650 people have visited Liverpool’s London office and more than 15 events have been held, resulting in several serious investment enquiries.

The first phase of Liverpool in London ended in August and the London office has now been relocated to the prestigious former home of the Royal Mint, near Tower Hill.

Situated opposite Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, the Grade II listed Royal Mint Court is just a few minutes’ walk from Tower Hill underground, Tower Gateway Docklands Light Railway and five minutes from Fenchurch Street Station and Liverpool Street Station.

Max Steinberg, chief executive of Liverpool Vision, which is leading the Liverpool in London project, said: “From the beginning, the London office has been raising Liverpool’s profile and helping our representatives find the right opportunity to sit round the table with high level London investors and decision makers.

“What has been so encouraging from the start is the collaboration that we have enjoyed with our business sector and to ensure our voice is still heard in London this must continue.

“I am delighted that Tender Management Consultancy is backing our ambition, because they seeing it as matching theirs. Their story is an inspirational one, because within three years they have grown from being a Liverpool Vision business start up to a sponsor of one of the city’s boldest recent initiatives.

“Their support comes at an important time as we enter a new phase of our London work and it is a clear endorsement of what we have been achieving in London since the start of the year.

“The London office is part of a wider mission to sell the city in a more co-ordinated and compelling way and I am convinced that our collective work is succeeding in ensuring perceptions about Liverpool are fully informed and up to date and this must continue. I urge others to support us and help ensure the city’s future prosperity.”
