Liverpool Hope awards Honorary Fellowship to Liverpool Vision head
Liverpool Hope University has awarded an Honorary Fellowship to Max Steinberg, Chief Executive of Liverpool Vision, during its Foundation Day ceremony.
The Fellowship was awarded in recognition of Max Steinberg’s significant contributions to housing and regeneration, most recently in Liverpool.
One of the UK’s leading practitioners in Urban Regeneration, Economic and public/private partnerships, Max Steinberg joined Liverpool Vision as Chief Executive in July 2010. Liverpool Vision is the Economic Development Company for Liverpool and is responsible for business support, enterprise promotion, inward investment, international relations, investment marketing in the City and Culture.
In 2010/11 Liverpool Vision successfully showcased the City at the World Expo in Shanghai. Max led the successful bid to secure the Global Entrepreneurship Congress to come to Liverpool in 2012, the first time this highly prestigious global event has taken place in Europe.
Speaking after the ceremony, Mr Steinberg said: “Throughout my career wherever I have worked, and especially in Liverpool and Lancashire, I have been surrounded by people who have displayed enthusiasm and expertise in equal measure.
“I am delighted to receive this Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool Hope University. It is a wonderful award from an institution that is making a major and growing contribution to Liverpool life and I accept it on behalf of all those who I have worked with and am currently with here in the city.”
Liverpool Hope’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gerald Pillay, said ‘The University is pleased to honour a number of people who have performed sterling public service. They have made a contribution to the ideals of Liverpool Hope University and to the city of Liverpool and the region.'
