Liverpool Bid for South Korea Investors
A trade mission to South Korea has highlighted investment opportunities around the Liverpool city region.
A delegation comprising inward investment body The Mersey Partnership (TMP), developer the Peel Group and Wirral council visited South Korea capital Seoul last week.
It followed a TMP investment event at the Liverpool Embassy in London in March, attended by the South Korean ambassador and UK-based South Korean investors.
The delegation’s focus included the region’s developing low-carbon economy and Peel’s plans for an International Trade Centre in Wirral.
Meetings included representatives of institutional investors and key manufacturers, such as Samsung, Daewoo and Hyundai, to generate awareness in the region’s offshore wind energy potential.
TMP chief executive Lorraine Rogers said: “South Korea is one of the world’s leading economies. Interest was expressed in Liverpool city region’s investment opportunities and we are now actively following this up.”
