It's Liverpool in China Event: Branding and Marketing in the Year of the Dragon
The Chinese year of the dragon, 2012, is associated with fortune, power and success. This proved to be to be the ideal time for the 'It's Liverpool in China' members to consider their international marketing and branding.
The latest 'It's Liverpool in China' event (19 September 2012) focused how western brands are seizing on opportunities to capitalise on their strong appeal in China and how luxury goods manufacturers including Versace, Rolls Royce and Piaget have all launched products specifically around the theme of the dragon.
More than 50 business leaders attended the event which was hosted by Rathbones in the Port of Liverpool Building and supported by the Institute of Directors and the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Sharon Hilditch the co-founder and MD of Crystal Clear International spoke about how she has grown her £10m brand and her recent expansion into China.
Davide de Maestri of Kenyon Fraser and Chair of CIM North West (pictured) talked about global marketing strategies and shared his experiences of launching household names in Chinese markets.
