Harvey Nicols pop-up food hall opens in Liverpool One
Luxury department store Harvey Nichols has opened a “pop-up” food store in Liverpool One.
The 1,833 sq ft food market will be open in Peter’s Arcade until December 31, offering city centre shoppers everything from deluxe hampers and gift sets to popular own-label Christmas essentials, festive treats and exclusive food and wines from around the world.
Chris Bliss, estate director at Liverpool One, said: “The Harvey Nichols Foodmarket pop-up shop offers a new level of luxury and indulgence for those who want something extra special this Christmas.
“We are very excited to welcome Harvey Nichols to Liverpool One and the city and hope our visitors enjoy the wide range of deluxe products it offers.”
Founded in 1813 as a linen shop in London, Harvey Nichols is now an international brand, with shops around the world.
In the UK it has stores in London, Leeds, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol.
If successful, the pop-up shop could pave the way for a permanent Harvey Nichols store in Liverpool.
Mr Bliss added: “It is certainly the start of a relationship between Liverpool One and Harvey Nichols.
“The luxury end of the market is relatively buoyant.
“It is really great we are starting to get brands like Harvey Nichols getting the confidence to come to Liverpool.
“We will certainly try to persuade them that Liverpool is a place to be for the future. Let’s hope they have a fantastic Christmas here.”
Harvey Nichols Manchester store manager, Iain Mackenzie added: “We already have a number of customers from the Merseyside area shopping in the Manchester store, so this shows that there is already a wide awareness of the brand.
“It will be interesting to see which products are successful. We will monitor this and make sure we offer plenty of variety to the Liverpool audience.”
