Groundwork Merseyside, the 80-20 Foundation Launch
Groundwork Merseyside yesterday introduced its new membership scheme, the 80-20 Foundation, with a launch event at Blackburne House. The 80-20 Foundation is a platform where firms can engage positively in the field of responsible and innovative environmental business practice.
Phil Wolstencroft, Manager of Estate Engineering, Jaguar Land Rover acted as key note speaker at the Groundwork Merseyside launch for the 80-20 Foundation. Phil was joined by other national business figures including the CEO of Typhoo, Keith Packer and Bernie Budworth, the Business Continuity Manager for QVC. Ben Donnelly, CEO, Elixir Foundations and Richard Dickins, CEO, Make it Happen Consultancy on the expert witness panel.
It’s time to engage; the 80-20 Foundation will provide the vehicle to assist business and organisations alike to develop, improve, embed and showcase their responsible business credentials. The 80-20 Foundation is powered by Groundwork Merseyside; a Merseyside only initiative, which will directly benefit the local community.
The 80-20 Foundation helps firms understand what needs to be changed, the opportunities for learning and collaboration, as well as the positive benefits these changes will create for the future. Members will receive a full responsible business review as well as a concise business development plan, highlighting changes and opportunities to make the business more economical, socially and environmentally sustainable. Members will also be invited to core seminars and conferences as well as networking sessions with other like minded organisations. Another benefit of The 80-20 Foundation is that as a member you would be part of a responsible local supply chain.
The Foundation actively encourages and develops partnership working, educating and influencing leaders to understand the positive impacts of working together for a common goal whether that be growth, profitability or the creation of doing ‘social good’. Members will see 20% of the membership fee go directly to the 80-20 Foundation Community Investment Fund to help set up and improve a range of community-led projects.
Tony Seasman, Marketing Manager said;
“The 80-20 Foundation helps members to be successful both for their own interests and for their wider community. We are delighted that businesses such as Jaguar Land Rover, Typhoo, QVC, Make it Happen and award winning Elixir Foundations, supported the launch.
Tomorrow’s successful businesses will be those who explore and respond positively today to the economic, societal and environmental changes which are already emerging and that will continue to surface.
As a member, we want to help you improve your business performance, identify new opportunities and enhance your reputation. We want to help you to contribute towards the growth of the local economy as it makes the transition towards reducing its carbon output.”
