Grade II conversion plans approved
Plans to convert a grade II-listed building in Liverpool into a hotel have been given the green light.
Union House in Victoria Street will undergo a refurbishment to create a 30-room boutique hotel, bar and a 90-cover restaurant in the basement.
Architects' firm Falconer Chester Hall is working on the scheme for London-based J&M Hospitality Consultants. The property was built in 1882 and is currently vacant after beginning life as an office building.
It had several provisions merchants as tenants including the Liverpool agent of tea company Tetley & Co.
Work is expected to start on site in the autumn and to be completed by spring 2013.
