Decide the next decade of Liverpool's growth

People with an interest in Liverpool are being invited to have their say about the next decade of the city’s regeneration.

For the next three weeks, Liverpool Vision is inviting debate on the future of the city centre to reflect Liverpool’s growing ambitions.

The City Conversation is part of the Strategic Investment Framework (SIF) which will build upon and refresh the Strategic Regeneration Framework 2000. It was this report, ten years ago, which guided the successful delivery of key developments such as Liverpool ONE, the Arena and Convention Centre and the expansion of the Commercial District into St Paul’s Square.

The discussions will be focused around six key sectors, Creative and Digital, Culture and Visitor Economy, Property, Financial & Professional Services, Life Sciences and Residential neighbourhoods.

Jenny Douglas, head of area investment for Liverpool Vision said:

“It is now time to look forward and set ambitious but deliverable goals for the next ten years. We are asking people from all over the city, and beyond to get involved.

“We recognise that the current economic circumstances dictate that deliverability of large scale projects is challenging. However that situation will change and it’s vital that we are ready to respond, with a new vision of how we shape the future development of the city centre.”

“We are encouraging people to tweet, go on facebook or write to us. We are keen to hear people’s big ideas for the city centre.”

You can follow the City Conversation onhttp://twitter.com/LiverpoolVisionand #CityChat and join the conversation on our facebook page www.facebook.com/liverpoolvision or write to Matt Biagetti at Liverpool Vision, The Capital, Old Hall Street, Liverpool, L3 9PP.

The SIF is expected to be finalised by spring 2012 and is being developed by a consortium headed by Drivers Jonas Deloitte and including Planit, Amion and Martin Stockley Associates.
