Culture and wellbeing grants handed out to Liverpool organisations
More than 30 grassroots organisations which aim to improve the health and wellbeing of Liverpool communities will be awarded vital grants.
In May, Liverpool Council and Liverpool Primary Care Trust (PCT) announced they would hand out £150,000 to organisations.
Following a competitive application process, 34 not-for-profit groups involved in arts and cultural activities were selected.
They included the Anthony Walker Foundation, the Suitcase Ensemble, Urban Revolt Media and The Sound Agents.
Cllr Wendy Simon, cabinet member for culture, said:Š “Our investments will pay dividends in terms of the health, social and personal development of those involved.”
The culture and wellbeing grassroots grants programme is in its second year. The first year saw more than 60,000 people benefiting from over 900 large and small events.
