Cosmopolitan sponsors Global Entrepreneurship Congress
Cosmopolitan Housing Group is the latest organisation to sponsor the world’s largest gathering of start-up champions, when the housing sector will rub shoulders with business leaders such as Sir Richard Branson.
Cosmopolitan Housing Group, which has an asset value of £1.3 billion, is one of a number of supporters of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC), which takes place from March 9 to 16 in Liverpool, alongside more than 70 Festival of Entrepreneurship events happening across the city.
Cosmopolitan Housing Group is keen to support this business Congress hosted by Liverpool Vision and the US-based Kauffman Foundation, which is a celebration of enterprise and an inspiration for those with the ‘can-do’ spirit to turn dreams into an ambitious reality. Speakers include founder of the Virgin Group Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Haymarket Group and former Deputy Prime Minister Lord Heseltine, former CEO of Tesco Sir Terry Leahy, founder of lastminute.com, Martha Lane Fox and founding Dragon Doug Richard.
Cosmopolitan Housing Group Chief Executive John Denny said:
“Our new Group is pleased to be supporting this inspirational gathering of experts from across the globe. I believe it is important to instil a global perspective to enhance our focus on the communities we work alongside. In this challenging climate businesses need to be innovative; we have an enterprise arm of our Group and are keen to support grassroots business initiatives from our residents. I firmly believe that the public sector can be just as entrepreneurial as the private sector and in doing so look to create an ethos of aspiration alongside our traditional role for both customers and colleagues. One example of this is the drive to create an educational bursary scheme to give opportunities for those with less advantaged starts in life to study at some of the finest educational establishments in the UK.”
Max Steinberg, chief executive of Liverpool Vision, said:
“We are thrilled to have Cosmopolitan Housing Group on board as a key sponsor for our Congress, which we hope will inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs to unleash their will to win.
“It’s great to see that Cosmopolitan see and embrace the need to ensure that as a major social housing provider they are linked into the enterprise agenda of innovation and job creation.”
