Baltic Triangle scheme moves into new phase

Liverpool’s new creative and digital hub, The Baltic Triangle, is about to move into phase two, which will see the remaining 35,000 sq ft refurbished.

Not-for-profit development firm, Baltic Creative CIC, has announced that ISG will be the main contractor on this latest stage.

“It’s great to have ISG on-board. They have really bought into our vision for the scheme and to now see work commence on site is very exciting. Having now let 90% of our first phase refurbished units we are keen to see the second phase complete. The plan for the scheme is incredibly exciting and we are getting interest from some fantastic creative and digital companies,” said Mark Lawler, Baltic Creative CIC centre manager.

The first phase was to refurbish around 10,000sq ft of managed workspaces, a split level mezzanine space and larger creative areas. This has attracted new tenants including Liverpool Sound City, Gecko Design, Trans Pacific Ltd and GoCre8.

This latest stage is slated for completion in June next year and will include a cafe, gallery, “shed studio”, duplex and “shop front studio”.

It’s been designed by Liverpool architects, Union North.

“The redevelopment of this underused area in Liverpool city centre is a dynamic enterprise and the passion and commitment of Baltic Creative to deliver a vibrant community of creative businesses is inspiring. Once completed, these new managed workspaces will undoubtedly prove an attractive proposition to both regional and national creative and digital businesses, set within a community of likeminded organisations,” added Jim Parker, ISG’s managing director North West
