Renshaw Street forms partnership
Friends of Renshaw Street is a new business partnership that has been formed to raise the profile of Renshaw Street, increase footfall and activity, support small businesses and create stronger strategic linkages across the city with partners.
The group is considering the effects of the changing city centre on footfall in Renshaw Street - most notably the relocation of Rapid Hardware, the magnet of Liverpool One, and construction activity at Central Village.
The group are currently developing a new identity for the street and increasing community participation. Liverpool Vision's Senior City Centre Development Manager, Matt Biagetti explains:
“The inspiration in creating Friends of Renshaw Street has come from the small, independent businesses who are seeking to develop a strong, unifying bond between Renshaw Street’s shop keepers, business owners, customers and residents."
Renshaw Street has a unique historical importance for Liverpool being a prominent route through the city centre, with classic city landmarks such as Lewis’, Grand Central Hall and the Former Rapid Hardware units. The street offers local independent shopping, creativity and diversity within the heart of the city, and Liverpool Vision are working with businesses and property owners to explore ways of strengthening that identity and attracting more investment.”
Friends of Renshaw Street are currently looking to expand their membership. For more information contact Matt Biagetti on mbiagetti@liverpoolvision.co.uk
