The USA has always been a strategically important market for the City of Liverpool with well developed and long standing cultural and tourism relationships. It remains Liverpool’s most active source market for Foreign Direct Investment and over 130 local companies are actively trading with the US involving key sectors such as creative industries, recreation and business support.

Liverpool’s ambition to develop strategic partnerships in the US and seek mutual opportunities was strengthened in 2011 by the appointment of Kristen Hirst as Director of ‘Liverpool in the US’. Liverpool is undertaking a range of activities to  build on this existing relationship and strengthen joint working opportunities.
