Global Entrepreneurship Congress
The Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2012, hosted by Liverpool Vision, Global Entrepreneurship Week and The Kauffman Foundation, took place at Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool from the 9 – 16 March 2012.
Liverpool was the first UK and European city to host the event and the city’s highly successful GEC 2012 summit was attended by almost 3000 business delegates from around the world. The event offered a unique opportunity to hear from a fantastic line-up of leading business minds, including Sir Richard Branson, Sir Terry Leahy, Martha Lane Fox and Lord Michael Heseltine.
The GEC summit was part of a wider, week-long Festival of Entrepreneurship, that featured 80 events across the city region attracting many more visitors to the city.
The event generated more than £560k for the city’s economy and proved to be the largest event of its kind ever to be held anywhere in the world to date.
GEC 2012 celebrated enterprise and inspired delegates to turn their dreams into an ambitious reality and ‘unleash the will to win’.
The GEC 2012 Summit was screened live online and has been watched by more than 5000 people. 85% of delegates left the GEC Summit 2012 feeling inspired.
