Chairman - Mike Parker
Michael Parker was appointed the first chair of Liverpool’s new economic development company in October 2007. As Group Chief Executive of BNFL, Mike, 61, has overseen operations at BNFL following his role as global chief executive officer of the Dow Chemical Company in Michigan, USA.
Mike Parker was born in Waterloo and educated at Waterloo Grammar School before reading chemical engineering at Manchester University and later gaining an MBA from the Manchester Business School. He began his career with Dow in 1968, becoming President and Chief Executive Officer of the Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan, USA in November 2000 to December 2002 and a member of the company’s Board of Directors from 1995 to February 2003.
He was appointed as Group Chief Executive of BNFL on 1 August 2003 and joined the Invensys plc Board as a Non-Executive Director on 24 May 2006.

Chief Executive – Max Steinberg
Max Steinberg, who was awarded the OBE in 1997 for services to Housing and Regeneration on Merseyside, began his career at Liverpool City Council in 1975 before moving to the Housing Corporation.
During 25 years at the Housing Corporation, Max worked in all aspects of housing, eventually becoming Director of Investment and Regeneration North before becoming Chief Executive of Elevate East Lancashire in 2003. Since 2009 he has been Chief Executive of Regenerate Pennine Lancashire Ltd, one of the largest Economic Development Companies in the UK.
Under Max’s leadership Regenerate Pennine Lancashire has been responsible for an economic development programme which has seen the creation of over 1,000 new businesses and the attraction of £10m of private investment; the development of the Pennine Lancashire Brand through events such as the highly successful ‘Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food and Culture’; and agreement of an Integrated Investment Strategy with seven local authorities, the Northwest Regional Development Agency and the Homes and Communities Agency.
Max, who is 58, has also been on the board of Liverpool John Moores University European Institute of Urban Affairs since 1992 and its chairman since 2001. He is currently a board member of the National Housing and Planning Advice Unit, a board member of the Riverside Housing Group and was a non-executive director of Kensington Regeneration from 2003-2006. Max joined Liverpool Vision in July 2010 replacing recently retired Jim Gill.

Deputy Chief Executive – Mike Taylor
Mike Taylor is Deputy Chief Executive of Liverpool Vision and heads a team directly responsible for supporting inward investment, business growth and business starts.
Mike previously worked in the media industry as General Manager of Granada Television and Managing Director of 3Sixtymedia and is a Director of a number of North West based organisations.

Director of Programmes – Ian McCarthy
Born in Liverpool and brought up in Warrington. Between 1980 and 1985 studied for a degree in Town Planning at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and worked for the City of Sunderland, undertaking special studies about the implementation of Industrial Improvement Areas, community business, business economics and methods of investment appraisal. Now a qualified member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
From 1985 – 1995 Ian was employed by Warrington Borough Council.
Between 1995 and 2002 employed by Manchester City Council, latterly becoming Head of the Economic Initiatives Group. The Group undertook a broad portfolio of economic regeneration activity including investment and development projects, business support, local benefit measures, European and International activity and sector development programmes.
Ian was appointed as Programme Director at Liverpool Vision, the Urban Regeneration Company for Liverpool City Centre, in July 2002. To initiate and coordinate a programme of activity to achieve the regeneration of Liverpool City Centre.

Director of Culture Liverpool - Claire McColgan MBE
Claire joined the Liverpool Culture Company in 2000, and created and managed the cultural programme for public involvement in the Capital of Culture bid which was cited as the major factor in Liverpool's success. She designed, produced and managed the unique £11 m Creative Communities Programme and managed Liverpool's 2007 birthday celebrations including the bicentenary of the abolition of slavery. Claire was also responsible for producing the programme for Liverpool's European Capital of Culture year, the participation programme and the opening and closing events for 2008 and received the MBE for services to the Arts in 2009.
Claire is now Director of Culture for Culture Liverpool responsible for Cultural Delivery and Policy for Liverpool City Council. Claire is also a non-executive director of Derry /Londonderry Culture Company responsible for UK City of Culture in 2013 and advises other European cities on cultural policy.
